Our culture and workplace is often described as a being like a family; caring, collaborative and compassionate.
A workplace that is quickly evolving to be more supportive and flexible; a workplace that is also demanding and so there is great importance on us to protect and evolve our culture by providing strong employee experiences and continue to enhance engagement throughout the employee lifecycle, so that we attract and retain the best talent.
When we launched our Enterprise Brand and #ELCfamily, it opened the door for the Company to provide more opportunities to our employees; greater workplace flexibility; we increased our paid parental leave offering to 14 weeks and took an industry first step to making this benefit more inclusive by no longer recognising primary and secondary carer status and becoming gender neutral, a true, meaningful link to Inclusion and Diversity.
We also saw the opportunity to provide more support to employees and line managers, and close the communication gap for both whilst an employee is on parental leave. And so we entered into a partnership with Circle In to provide a bespoke parental leave portal to help you stay connected before, during, and following your return from leave. Featuring on-demand resources, news and communication, including real life stories from your colleagues, it’s designed to be accessed at the time and place of your choosing.
As a working mum, myself, I wish I had access to a unique resource such as this portal, so that I had more influence over my return to work and a more seamless transition back to the workplace.
My wish is that we have as many of you return to work after what has been an incredibly rewarding, challenging and life changing journey, and you feel supported and equipped to continue the career journey you have worked so hard to carve out. I would also love to see more dads take the opportunity to have precious time with their babies!
